Did you know more than forty percent of the adults over age 60 in our community have difficulty with the paperwork required by applications for social safety net programs because of illiteracy, vision problems or comprehension problems due to illness?
We assist Medicare beneficiaries in applying for federal Low-Income subsidy and the Arkansas Medicare Savings Programs, aiding Medicare beneficiaries in choosing Medicare Part C and Part D plans and counseling new Medicare beneficiaries.
We assist with preparing and electronically filing free federal and state (Arkansas and Oklahoma) tax returns for senior citizens, disabled, Non-English Speaking, rural individuals and families whose Adjusted Gross Income is below $54,000.
Partnering with the Arkansas Insurance Commission and Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP), RSVP members serve as SHIIP Advocates.
